This looks promising
Dritz wonder tape to help with securing and sewing baffles....

Hey Jellyfish....just a random question...and gonna ask my aunt too..
How long should my stitches be for attaching the baffle no see um strips in the down quilt?
It seems to me that I could get away with a bit longer of a stitch , but too long I guess down could leak through to other channels....?

the darn dritz stuff is stuper expensive for this job though sadly...I may be able to use it in incriments to the near same end result though more or less...and may just wait to use it to the attachment of the 2nd shell to the baffle material..
May also look to try some other product similar but cheaper...like the same concept but a glue in a bottle? found a product called "glue-baste-it" by a company named "Roxanne"....may contact the company and ask if it will adhere to these fabrics...sounds like futility perhaps.
I also tested out the washing away idea...and it did wash away in warm water easily, with no residue remaining....
The amount of this tape I would need for the quilt build would be crazy.
each baffle length is like 88 inches...there will be 13 of them per shell....so that is nearly 200 yards!! 25 dollars per 25 yards of the wonder tape....still...I plan on making 2 more top quilts for my kids, so I want to in the process find ways to make it fun and as easy as possible..
The masking tape may be the way to go though.

I use the longest stitch possible on baffles for a few reasons (I believe that is 6 stitches per inch on my machine): 1) Less holes w/down is more better IMO, b) fabric tends to pucker less, sewing goes faster, and 3) You will not have a single problem with down migrating between channels.

I am agreeing with Caminante. Long and steady stitches should serve you well.

I'm trying this out. So far, so good. I'm sewing my first hammock out of Hexon 1.0 with absolutely no sewing experience. This has made rolled hems and channels much easier than pins. I'm not sure how well it would work with the materials on your project, but it's cheap enough to test. $3 at Hobby Lobby was well worth it for me.
