There are several great hanging sites at Frozen Head State Park a bit NW of Knoxville. Free showers, bathrooms 10mins down the trail, free backpacking (but not car camping)

Sounds like there are several people interested I would like to get one up soon how would the weekend of Nov 11-13 sound maybe do something in frozen head state park as was suggested by another hanger I already have a trip planned for this coming weekend with a group of guys I hike with. Any suggestions would be appreciated I would like to be able to announce one before the weekend to allow people time to prepare if the want to come. The smoky mountian national park would be hard to do since all backcountry sites have to paid for in advance and reserved.

November the creeks in frozen head should be back up. No real rain for months has them dry. Early Nov looks good to me.

We could always do a outing in the smokies we just would have to know how many people are going to make to reservations and the cost is $4.00 a person for the site. The west prong site number 18 is a nice site I have stayed there before about a 1.5 mile hike in and holds 12 people plenty of places to hang and three fire pits and the west prong river runs through the entire site for good water. Nice hike in.

Not that I'm aware of. I believe it is year round. I can call Mike or Dianna to see. (is it bad I have the rangers on speed dial?)

I think only the park-at site is closed. Pojo, rough directions?? Creek through sounds fun!
