I might be one of the few guys that likes the XLC more than the ridge runner. I have both and they both are great, but if I had to choose one it would be the XLC.

Just an update... I have found a couple that are working great for me. I have a Dream Hammock Raven that I picked up used, and a Warbonnet Traveller. I don't really prefer one over the other, but will use the Raven when I need a net or cover, and the WB when I want lightweight. Have a Sparrow on order for the wife that should ship this week. I definitely prefer the 11' hammocks even though I'm only 5'8".

I really like my UK Green Hornet. Second is
Netless RR, love my Simply Light Designs, my daughter's Dream hammock is also very nice so many choices. Each person has their own needs, based partly on experience.

    Tony,

What fabrics did you select for your Sparrow? What size? Do you mind sharing your order number?

I think so much of the comfort comes down to fabric, size of person relative to the hammock, etc. that this is a personal thing where you have to find the right combination for you. Do your research then buy or try one knowing that you may need to sell it and get another.

A gathered end hammock, 11', with a slightly shorter ridgeline than normal. I feel I get a flatter lay with a shorter ridgeline. I also prefer less stretch in the material so either poly or a heavier nylon. I currently use poly and like it better. Besides that it's all just bells and whistles...little added comforts.

Ditto on that. I'm keeping a eye out on the Chameleon though.

Just wondering, what kind of fabrics can i use? I'm looking to make one for more permanent home sleeping. So weight is not an issue. Currently i have a 1.7oz robic XL made for camping. Also I've import ripstop nylon, so they are pretty pricey. I'm wondering what other fabrics I can make use of?

    Cheers

Based on the number of hammocks we buy, I'm going to say the one you are getting ready to order is the most comfortable; or at least we think it is!
