It is currently 24°F and the low tonight should be 18°F. Perhaps I'll give my military M-1949 mountain sleeping bag a try. It is ultra-light down, weighing about 6.5 pounds. I'll add the Supershelter though.
I think the M1949 is a down bag. I think....
It is 20% waterfowl down and 80% chicken feathers according to a 1976 NATICK study. That's why I get a laugh out of the 6.5 pound weight, and that's without the ≈2 "water resistant" cotton cover. Should be good down to 14° when it was new, but mine is stamped 1951!
I'll have to check my gear list, but I think that the combined weight everything I carry is less than the weight of this bag.

I have one of those bags. They are warm as all get out, but definitely not back packing suitable. Great for car camping though and priced right!!

For car camping only?!? Perish the thought! Time for me to order a Dixon Rollerpack.
Ooooooooooh...the heavy load Rollerpack comes with a camo frame?!?
car camping or canoe camping, point is those bags work without all the extra rigging.
