Cuben Tarp Door Tie Backs; how to use them? Missing Something?

Just received my Hammockgear Cuben Tarp with Door Tie backs. Feeling stupid because I'm not sure how to use the Door Tie Backs. There is a strip of cuben sealed in the middle to the inner side of each tarp corner, but nothing on the outside. Shouldn't there be an outside strip also?

Pic showing the cuben strips attached on inside of each corner.

Pic showing outside with nothing present.

Pretty sure I'm missing something pretty basic here. Lol

No worries Joe! So first off, we try to roll up one of the doors to give you a visual reference for the other ones. If we didn't, I apologize, and will let the person responsible for that know about it. So what you're going to want to do is roll the door up towards the inside of the tarp. The inside of the tarp is the side where those longer pieces are. Once you get to those longer strips, wrap one of them around the rolled up door, then through that small corresponding piece on the outside of the tarp. Then you just tie a knot. Repeat that for all the other ones on there (2 on each door) and you should be all set. You can do it for however many you want, or none at all. It's basically like rolling up a door on a tent flap, just with your doors when you don't want to use them. We're currently working on a video to help new folks out with this process, so I do apologize for not having that up yet! Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions. Here's a pic I found here on HF from @novasquid that shows what things will look like once you get it all rolled up.

I probably would have had the same question as my CF Palace tarp did not come with any of the doors tied back either.

You can see how in my video here on the Dutch CRL. I talk about how I rig my Cuben Fiber tarp on it too.

I had the same question too when I first got mine. Couldn't figure out how they were supposed to work. Made a call to another buddy who had the same tarp and he talked me through it. Enjoy your new purchase!

I actually had the same question. Never could figure out how they worked unless it was to tie a corner cord back to. Haven't used them. I thought the Spiguyver's video had some nice suggestions on both using shock cord for the panel pulls and the door management. Also liked the use of the Dutch worms for the corners. I usually have long cords hanging off the corners to fasten down, but the video method gets rid of a mass of cords tied to the fly.

I found taking the strands of cf and twisting them (between the forefinger and thumb) to make the flat tape into a string. This made it easier to thread through the loop on the outside of the tarp - and for tying.
