    Xenon 5300 Hex tarp

This is my second xenon 5300 tarp, 11.5' ridge length. 2" cat cuts, I reinforced the tieouts with the same material, glued on with silicone. I sewed the grosgrain for the tieouts to the hem only, I tested the strength of a few different configurations and this seemed to be the strongest. It weighed in at 1 lb with 35' zingit ridge line, Dutch hook and wasp, snake skins, and double ended stuff sack. The material is very strong and easy to work with.

I just ordered some of the 5300 for some gravity filters. It has a very nice feel to it. I hadn't got my machine dialed in yet so I've only been sewing on the scraps from some of my cut outs. I can't wait to get them together. Great looking tarp, I'll be trying one once my skill set is up to it.

Have any tutorials on making gravity filter out of this that you're following?

No, just the tidbits I've picked up here and backpacking light. It's my first diy project. I based it off the amigo pro somewhat. With a a few changes.

I'll have to look for some. I hadn't considered lightweight fabric used for a bladder.
