    Extra wide under-quilt thoughts

    I currently have a hg 0 underquilt
I fell that the length is fine for me
But think i could benefit greatly from 6"-12" wider
I spoke to hg and they said they could do it
I am 6'1" and 270lbs if that matters and do allot of moving around in hammock at times
I fell like the standard is just enough coverage more would benefit me
So is there any downsides or problems associated with an extra wise uq that i should be aware of?
    Tia

Extra weight. Extra unused insulation. Top quilt is for insulating your sides, not UQ.

I would recommend a wider top quilt as this is the one that wraps around you. Extra width on the under quilt will only serve to block your view as it will simply stick up higher along the hammock.

I would like an extra wide quilt myself. I think for smaller guys it's less of an issue, but if you have broad shoulders, I think it could help.

My current quilt just seems more narrow than I'd like. I find it just barely covers on my one shoulder, and just barely covers my feet on the opposite end. A few inches to the sides and my shoulder wouldn't slip out all night.

If you toss around like I do, I think it would be nice. It wouldn't add all that much weight.

Every day is a good day.

If you go much more than 50" you will have a problem with air gaps under the quilt

OP said 275..I'm assuming since thread is about Wide, there might be a few Heavy Weight folks inquiries. Personally I'm a buck- sixty- five slim.
