I came down with the DIY bug this season UQ Question

Well I have been suffering from the DIY bug since I got into hanging. I completed a 2.4oz Hexon bridge (ariel design) that replaced my bed after two nights. Now it's time to up the level a bit, with a diy tarp, a set of quilts, a pillow, and a rainkilt (maybe this will cure the sickness for a bit).

I'm wondering if anyone here has had good luck with a underquilt with a layer of insultex with 1.1w nylon as the shell. Then using insultex with baffles to hold a small amount of down then apex climashield on top against the hammock with another nylon shell. I'm thinking it will help cut the wind chill down quite a bit and somewhat boost the temperature rating. I received my order and never having worked with nylon before my first impression is that it doesn't look very comfy compared to hexon.

Hexon is a type of nylon btw. And it sounds like that would work, although they make wind proof fabrics for underquilts that would be much simpler to make and lighter.
