I'm 5' 11" and I hang it at eye height or a bit lower, probably more like neck height. I generally target about 30 degrees but a bit more isn't bad. I find the RR very forgiving of your hang angle. I did hang it closer to 20 something degrees when I first got it before I dialed it in and it was rather tippy when it was that flat (and probably too much stress on the line). Also, for me I set it up flat and don't raise the foot end. I don't slide down at all. It just works for me.

My new RR is my first attempt at hammock camping. I’ve only done one overnight hang and one other setup in a park. With both setups I kept thinking I was hanging very low to the ground.Im pretty sure I had straps as high as I could,I’m 5’6”. I just watched RR setup Video again and it seemed Brandon was hanging low also. Is 8’-10” from the ground the normal height that you all hang? Do GE hammocks hang higher? Thanks for helping out a newbie!

Do you have any pics. I set mine up so my feet just touch the ground when I'm sitting in it and this is typically me reaching just above my head to connect the suspension and then tightening up the straps to get the desired height. Gathered end hammocks typically have to be tied up higher to get them off the ground as they hang at at 30 degree angle rather than the 25 degree angle for the RR.

Head end should be "slightly" lower than the foot end when you're laying in it...you shouldn't feel like you are sliding away from the neck bump towards the foot end, if so adjust one end or the other to correct that. Straps 25-30 deg should be fine. Height off the ground is whatever you are comfortable with, but generally not much higher than chair height
