    Reintroduction after a long hiatus

I used to be fairly active on here 6 years ago but moved away from AZ and haven't done any backpacking/camping since then (been working on my career for the past 5 1/2 years or so now after moving back to TX). Figured I would do another introduction thread though as the other day I finally managed to find my WBBB. Sadly I have no clue what happened to my fly or the insulation system I used to use. On a positive note though I've got a buddy with a sewing machine that is going to help me turn 4 of the costco down throws into a nice system that should be adaptable for four seasons here in central TX. I've been getting into sport and trad climbing lately here in TX and am excited about the prospect of camping out at Enchanted Rock or other crags to get an early start on my climbing. Still need a new fly though, anyone have some good suggestions for something not too pricey that fits the WBBB?

Lots of new tarp fabrics now available either DIY from Ripstopbytheroll and others and great cottage vendors to make what you want. In most any color or printed fabric--various weights and co$t$ !! Good luck, Rushthezeppelin you have lots of great choices. I'd browse for a bit before buying---

Welcome back! We just bought three WBBB hammocks and I am having Chad at Colorado Outdoor Gear Supply (COGS) make our tarps. One hex cat cut 12' and two 11' cat cut with doors (his winter tarp) for the wife and daughter for privacy. I might borrow one of those if I hang in the winter. Get in touch with Chad as his prices are decent. I will be reviewing the tarps when I get them as he is just starting his little business and the exposure will be good for him!

Welcome back! For tarps, I still love my Warbonnet Mamajamba (no door) and Superfly (door) tarps. But your timing could be right to get into a silpoly tarp instead of the usual silnylon. I've been eyeing a Winter Dream tarp from Underground Quilts, specifically the .93 Membrane material. Less stretch than silnylon when wet and a bit lighter. You also benefit from the smaller pack size compared to cuben and of course a lot cheaper.

I really want one, but just can't justify it when I have 3 other tarps.
