I have a fat lazy French Bulldog and a wife that prefers our travel trailer, neither of them love hammocks.

My dog enjoys sleeping in them, not so much the walk there.

Hopefully getting my wife out for an overnight when the weather warms up. No amount of money could pay her to sleep outside in temps below 60.

Every day is a good day.

Welcome to hammock forums and enjoy the hammocking ride it can be a fun ride if you enjoy the challenges of outdoor adventures. Tell Jarod we are grateful for his service and again welcome.

Lol there is nothing wrong with that! I'm a biologist so I'm sort of the exception lol. It definitely takes a lot more time and resources to buy for two than just one, that's why we are trying the whole DIY scene. Thank you so much for your support and warm welcome! We can't wait to get out there.

Lol! We usually bring a tent for the pups, I don't know if I could handle a 70lb German shepherd in the hammock with me. I can imagine the same goes for the bulldog! Our pups are almost too adventurous lol they wear us out. The upside is, Adie, our German shepherd, loves to help us gather sticks for the fire.

Good luck and I hope she falls in love with it! I'm a biologist so I'm an exception lol. I do get a little fussy if I'm too cold but with the right gear I'm as happy as can be!

Wait - you already built an UQ? Or are going to soon attempt?

We should cross paths and camp!

Ps - I'm still very green as far as backpacking - did more kayak camping than the former so far but trying to do more backpacking...don't have human children if you value free time (o kid - they are little blessings...most of the time).

I plan my first 3 day 3 night trip in 2017 - no plans for extensive mikes at this point...

We bought the materials and are waiting for them to come in. we haven't had the chance to put them together yet. I think it would be awesome to get together!

I don't think I could do a lot of miles at first either. I want to make sure my gear will hold up and my body as well lol. We are planning on going most likely in February, January is a busy month and unfortunately we can't do anything then.

If you ever come down to Alabama for a hike or backpacking let me/us know. I'm doing my first backpacking trip next week in the sipsey wilderness which is in northern west Alabama. Also keep an eye out in the outings section of the forum for group hangs in your area

Will do! We are looking at finding new places to visit anyways. We've kind of exhausted the places around here and want to try something new. We aren't going to be able to get out on any serious trips until February unfortunately.

I'm a big wuss when it comes to cold haha.......I'm a summer person so I won't be doing much in January either if it's cold. You should definitely check out sipsey wilderness then. It's about a 2 1/2 hour drive from nashville
