    DIY Seam Grip

Is it possible to make a homemade polyurethane sealant like Seam Grip with polyurethane caulking and mineral spirits similar to the method of making flow able silicone for silnylon fabrics? I have some 70d and 300d PU coated fabrics I'd like to seal.

I've thinned out pure silicon (clear) with mineral oil and brushed it on, much like seam sealer. It works great, very affordable and has lasted 7+ years.

But I see you are using a silnylon tarp, not a PU coated one?

The marine goop will still turn an off dirty beige in the sun eventually. I use it for other things. Good product.

You are right and I don't know if the properties of PU v. Silnyloncause a failure.

Silicone sealant tends to peel off PU coated materials.
