    Thumbs up Free down!!

::Last night while laying in my hammock I posted a vid of the crazy loud water fowl that set up camp right out in front of my house ( and in turn mere feet away from my hammock) that were singing loudly into the cold December night. I just took a guess on how many there were jokingly, but as you'll see in this video I wasn't far off! They haven't stopped honking and quacking yet and its now driving my dog nuts lol! I took him out with me to shoot this vid and his mouth was watering at the sight of so many duck and goose dinners. He actually tried to go out on the ice after them right after I stopped filming lol. While I absolutely LOVE nature and think ducks and geese are beautiful animals, when they woke me up at 3am with there honking & quacking pissing contest , I didn't think they were so majestic anymore, and was actually honking and quacking back at them louder to try and silence them some. I don't think it worked, BC every time I honked or quacked, they must have thought I was a HUGE duck or goose BC it made them do it even louder!!! However, I'll gladly listen to their song all night.... it means Im out in my hammock enjoying the crisp winter air, nestled in between super warm HG quilts made from the down of their friends and family! Hahaha! Who's quacking now goose? Keep being loud, you might just end up plucked, with your down now in between layers of Argon 67 tafetta for that pillow i want, and the rest of you on a platter for my Xmas dinner! Duck soup would be great on a cold day like this too, so you better take heed also!

Reminds me of Edmonton, Alberta. During boom times a lot of communities formed around man made lakes. The geese discovered the well tended "Lakes" and moved in year around. Noise was awful along with a fowl mess from hundreds of geese. No solution to the noise or filth.

Lucky for me they will float down the bay a mile or two and then fly back up. That usually gives me a few days break after they've worn out there welcome lol. I can still hear them but not nearly as loud. If its just right, i can hear people talking on the other side of the bay, 1.5 miles away. They stay in the water when they're up here for the most part, and when they do go onto the beach its next door to me @ the neighborhood beach , so they leave their poop and feathers over there and not on my beach lol. And its A LOT of poop!

Sounds like earplugs could help with your problem, or a few waterfowl hunters during season. As for the neighbor, I'd make sure the birds continue to have a reason to visit their beach (a little bird seed perhaps)

I would rather be in the woods... my dog would rather be in the pool. My wife thinks we are both nuts.

Omg, whippoorwills suck! When I was a kid, my folks built a house out in the woods and I can remember vividly many summer nights listening to our whippoorwill cackle all night. I feel your pain there, they can be soooo loud!

I know right? I should start a zoo for misfit wild animals, it could be like one of those African game reserves lol.... And if you look out the right side of the jeep, you can see a rabid raccoon dragging what looks to be a long piece of green fabric of some sort. And on the left, 1,000 singing geese all honking amazingly at the same time!
