    Hello from Portland, Oregon

    Hi.

I bought a Hennessy about 10 years ago for bicycle camping. Loved it instantly, except the getting cold part. I kept trying to fix the problem with complicated bulky half measures until I finally shelled out for a JRB underquilt in 2011: why did I wait so long?! Then I went completely nuts and hung a nice Brazilian cotton double at home, and I've now slept every night in a hammock for over 3 years. When I travel on business, I try to assure that I can pitch a hammock in the room, on a balcony or whatever, because beds just don't work for me anymore!

I just ordered a Handy Hammock stand (now sold by DD in the UK) so I can hang without trees. Eyeing a Bonefire Whisper for field use, to supplement the Deep Jungle Asym with JRB underquilt.

Home: LaSiesta Carolina Double hung from ceiling joists, with LaSiesta Colibri insulated hammock used as underquilt:

Welcome from SC. The Bonefire hammock/quilt is awesome! Fireinmybones let me lay in his a while back. I'd love to have one. Very light and comfortable.
Keep movin', keep believing and enjoy the journey!

I live in inner SE. Noodling a hike all the way through to the coast Spring Break, maybe riding/pushing a bike that I can stash for later retrieval if the bushwhacking gets too intense...

We are just south of Woodstock. When I was younger I did the full hike from the coast home a few times. Beautiful. The only reason I am in Oregon is the coast. Portland is so in the middle of everything but the coast is my love.
