    Fascinating

The two stake anchor seems to be kinda like the concept of the "alamosa anchor" or ones like it? I have the "orange screw" 12 inch stakes for my stand but have plans to couple a DIY alamosa style thing to the orange screws - simply a piece of aluminum that the orange acres will go into that and the aluminum will sit flat on ground.

I want to see the anchor insert he has a bit more up close - that looks promising

Burying is my impractical - would be interesting to see that buried in the sand.

YOBO seem to have a completely freestanding offering now. I don't know if it is new or not but their videos look like they're only a couple of months old. Has anyone got any experience with it?

There are a handful of videos on their youtube channel that show it in use. https://www.youtube.com/c/YOBOgear/videos

I get the physics and believe it will hold a shifting load when set up correctly but it looks like maybe it's a bit short. I can't see a length given anywhere on their site though.

I've recently picked up a Yobo Freedom Stand (two sides). Still getting used to it and setting it up correctly. Is there any general rule for guyline distances and angling of the uprights for this style? I have seen some people who have the poles nearly vertical, and some where the feet are closer in than the tops. Here I have it set up with my Dutch Chameleon and a 12-ft tarp. I weigh 290 and it has held up with the stakes settling in only about an inch on this soil.

Looks legit, just wonder how it would anchor into a rocky terrain

That all depends on the stakes you bring. Also rocky terrain will usually provide largish objects that can be tied off to, like boulders and stout shrubs.
