Bury a small piece of amsteel at the beginning of the adjustable loop. That thicker section can't be drawn down into the main bury, just as a bead can't. It's the most elegant solution.

I use stainless steel beads. Pandahall and Aliexpress have a huge selection.

I also like splicing a piece of Amsteel into the Whoopi, directly after the bury. This looks very clean, but it's more work than a bead.

    Any ideas?

Oh, and I'm thinking that it would be possible to install something like beads on my current whoopies if I can take the 2" bury out of the end of the iine, and then redo it.

Anything that wont break will work. A small nut...
But if you're putting something on the whoopies, why not make it functional? I use a dutch Whoopie Hook on my adjustable end. It clips onto the continuous loop on my hammock. It's the only metal or non-permanent attachment point in my suspension. No toggles, no carabiners. And it makes a good place to attach your underquilt, too.

In theory a good idea, but if you frequently have to hang between trees very far apart, this solution becomes cumbersome, because the adjustable part will be pretty high up. That's why I got rid of a Whoopie suspension that only worked in that direction. If you only have to bridge normal distances, it's a good solution.

I just came across some black zip ties that I forgot I had. I put one on each whoopee sling, and left them just open enough to freely slide on the line. They even look like they belong there -- thanks for the suggestion!

If you want to be all fancy and have some cash burning a hole in your pocket, you can always get titanium lanyard beads.

Oh geez... some of them have tritium... must resist.

I have used Budweiser red can tabs. Just deburr a little. They looked good and were free.
I would rather be in the woods... my dog would rather be in the pool. My wife thinks we are both nuts.

All good ideas! I like the Budweiser red can tabs. I already searched for titanium beads and found 10 for $3.00 on a Chinese site -- 30-60 days delivery :-). Those would be nice and light for those concerned with weight and strong. I may order some of them and have some on hand.

I have some small stainless steel split rings, like 1/4" diameter. Get a big package for $5 in the fishing section. I actually got them to replace broken zipper pulls, but had a lot left over and thought I would try it.
