Is the Warbonnet Edge enough for me?

(Noob question) With winter coming around I'm at a bit of a standstill with which tarp I want. I'm between the edge and the mamajamba and I'm leaning towards the edge. I've seen where tarps are partly chosen based on season and I can't figure out why one tarp would be better than another in that aspect (wind coverage maybe?). Anyway, the lowest it ever gets down to here is 15 F so would the edge give me enough coverage with the add on door flaps in a southern climate?

It will work but if you get into any blowing rain the edge doesn't provide a lot of coverage. Many of use choose larger tarps in the winter so we can block blowing precipitation and wind. I would use the edge as a fair weather tarp when I do not expect rain nor wind.

Don't mess around. If you are planning on camping comfortably in 15f. Get the superfly. Yes, a little more expensive, but you will be thankful that you got the one with "doors" built in.

So as long as I'm not planning on going ultralight anytime soon I don't have to worry about having any other tarp than the superfly year-round?

I have both an Edge and a Superfly- I always take the Superfly, the Edge is my loaner.

Yes, the superfly is still very light and versatile and can be pitched in many different configurations...you won't regret it

I wouldn't think so. If you don't wanna use the doors in the summer there's methods of suspending the doors so they are out of your way. I think it's the perfect tarp for year round use.
