I'm looking to add a gear loft to my hammock, Similar to the one dream hammocks makes at the ends of the hammock. Curious If anyone has attempted this... Or something else in the vein of a perminant loft on their hammock?

If I understand correctly, what you actually want to make is a "peak bag", a stuff-sack type bag that hangs down into your hammock and is attached to your end suspension. Check this link: http://www.dream-hammock.com/shop.ht...tegory=4019214
The video at the bottom shows it in detail.
If so, just go to the home page of this site and use the Google search with the terms "peak bag diy" or similar and you should find results, but it doesn't look very complicated.
My apologies if this isn't what you were referring to!
No a peak bag is not what I'm looking for.... I'll see if I can find some pics
I went on this quest before as well. There is a pattern somewhere from dream hammock for an early design. Basically you just have to experiment and see what works for you. I ended up making one that is like a small hammmock that prussics to the ridgeline. the sides are fully shockcorded and it can slide to either peak of the hammock. same exact idea as a sewn in peak shelf, but less work, and removable.

This is what I'm talking about
That is what some people refer to as a "peak shelf" I believe.
The impression I get is that to make one, you basically just make a very small hammock and tie it to your ridgeline. I haven't personally made one, but I have a bit of time today, so I may give it a whirl. I am thinking a 24" long and 12" wide piece of no-seeum, hem the sides, gather the ends and attach one to head end suspension, and prussik the other to the ridgeline.
If i do end trying it, I will take some pictures and let you know how it turned out.
I have done it.... Mentioned in my post above its nice to have it pretty wide so the shock corded sides create a little pocket for gear to be stored. Leave one side uncinched and you have easy above head access

Do you happen to have any pics of yours? It sounds like exactly what I'm wanting. I like my cuben fiber ridgeline organizer to hold my phone, kindle, water bottle, etc. However, I was thinking a small hammock on the ridgeline that could be used as a dresser of sorts. Somewhere to toss the day clothes to keep them handy.
Yes I'll get a picture for you shortly

I made a small hammock that I prusiked to my ridgeline. It's smaller than what was pictured earlier, but plenty effective. I dig it.
A bit tough to see in this pic, but it's the only one I have of it, presently. It's about a foot long and 8" wide.
