Peapod question

I'm trying to get my winter setup dialed in, and I'm intrigued by the Peapod setup. When you wrap a sleeping bag around your UQ for the purposes of a pea pod, does the sleeping bag compress the down in the UQ rendering it less effective?

I use a pod system for deep Winter camping with a TQ and UQ inside a WM Alpinlite sleeping bag. Been to minus 40ºF in that system. What little compression there is seems negligable.
