    Pick one!

If you had to pick between a Dutch winter sock or a Warbonnet Travel sock which way would you go? I have a BBXLC without the weather cover because I already owned a Dutch sock but now I'm considering the Travel sock. Looks like it might make things a little easier. Any opinions?

    Personally I like the traveler.

They are both fine designs; I'd chalk the choice up to personal preference.

I happen to like zippered entry, so I would go with the WB if I hadn't made my own zippered-entry sock.

I have the WB traveler Sock. I made the end caps so it would fit my 10ft. hammock better. Now with the XLC sock the extensions are not needed.
Look at some of the videos, you can not open up your BB all the way and use the sock on the BB. I just open up the one side.

I have the dutch winter sock and I like it pretty well I don't have a bb though. You can stuff the dutch to about the size of a nalgene bottle. I don't need it since I got my sparrow. I also have not used the wb sock.

I'd choose neither as my experience with these devices are they hold way too much moisture when they are needed most and that is in the cooler/colder temps. You're much better off with a higher rater top/bottom quilt combo to match the temps you are going to hang in. If you lived where the humidity is lower then maybe this wouldn't be as much of a problem but even in sub zero temps the moisture is an issue according to some of Shugs videos.

I didn't have a problem with mine but I also made it similar to Kitsapcowboy's with a vent right by my face. I also crack my door a bit. The main reason I use it is to keep the wind from blowing between my layers and protection from spray. I used a heavier 1.9 material.

I have a WBBB sock with one zipper, and two other socks including one for the WBRR that have two zippers. Whatever you get I would recommend that the sock has two zippers. It gives you more temperature options. Wide open it is almost just a UQ protector and it has a very good view on both sides. Then I can close zippers to block the wind on either side, or use the wind to vent the sock a bit.

I have the Dutch Summer sock and am impressed that even with the half net it provides a wind break and a few degrees of warmth. We rotated them so that the solid side was facing outside of shelter. Great workmanship
