Walk on Water Hang "WOW Hang" : Co-hosts for the weekend: harleyfatboy316 & Karla "with a k"

Why Walk on Water? WIBackpacker said it's pretty awesome to walk on the frozen Devil's Lake in winter

Date: Friday, Feb. 24 @ 3pm until Sunday, Feb. 26 @ noon

Devil's Lake State Park Address: Devils Lake Group Camp, Merrimac, WI 53561 (on the South/East side of the lake)




State park sticker or daily pass required. (More info on sticker: http://dnr.wi.gov/topic/parks/admission.html?prompt=0)

Group Site details:
* During the winter season, all group sites are walk-up only (not able to reserve). So, the first person on-site will get to select the best group site for us.
* Max Num of People: 20
* Pets Allowed: Yes, Domestic on leash
* Max Num of Vehicles: 7 (please carpool) - there is overflow parking available as you drive into the group sites
* Fire Pit: Y
* Picnic Table: Y
* Pit toilets and hand pump water is nearby
* We'll be able to gather dead wood, but everyone should purchase a bundle or two of wood. (Ranger station will sell wood until 4pm daily)

Cost will be determined by how many people attend. Please bring cash to pay. (Predicted cost to be between $15-20) Please purchase 1-2 bundles of wood & bring it to the site with you. Limited to 20 people.

We will have potluck dinners for all meals.

I also posted this hang on a Milwaukee camping Meetup.com group. We have one gentleman who is coming to tent camp with us. It's his first time winter camping. At this time, he has no interested in trying out hammocking.

All depending on who is coming, but we should have enough extra gear to get them into hammocks

I wont know till probably the week of the hang, my health has been horrible this year so far, but if you need some extra gear please feel free to message me and i can find a way to help you out, all i ask is that the person using my gear uses a liner in the hammock and that if they damage it they fix it or replace it!

I put it on the calendar, I'm hopeful that my work schedule will cooperate. Also, the ice better freeze solid and stay frozen, otherwise we will have to rename it "Walking on Slush-bergs".
