I know they'll be at least 3 or 4 of those hot tents at GT that weekend. They are pretty amazing. There's a link at the end of my OP for the 2016 report that shows them in action.

Should be an awesome long weekend in the woods. Going to have to step up my meals for this one...or maybe be lazy and go for whats tried and true: sausage gravy and cornbread & jambalaya w/sausage, chicken, ham and red peppers.

I'm in but will need a backyard test night if below zero is forecasted. I'll bring the usual along with a chain saw. Maybe throw some spicy chicken wings in for something different.

Will bring the hot tent, a copy of Doggers, nice and cozy with the stove but not a backpack piece, pulks work well for that though

Don't want to get too off topic, but any problems with it getting smoky inside? I guess that depends on the stove and fire building skills/wood type?

I just went hunting with my dad and he brought this usual military arctic tent and stove.

I feel like a recluse sleeping away in my hammock, but never sleep in that tent for many reasons, one being the smoke. I'm glad because it was a smoke bomb the second night when he got it fired up; I can't stand to smoke up my gear.

Shouldn't with the right sized smoke stack taking the smoke up and away...

I checked out Dogger's tent last year and it looked great. Didn't notice any smoke. Looking forward to checking out some more this winter!

I may try to make this outing but will have to see how work plays out. I like the GP small tent. I would be bringing my lightweight arctic tent. Hopefully will get a stove soon.

My dad should have bought one of those smaller tents! He uses the HQ Issue stove, about $115 online. It's actually a pretty nice stove. Fine for car camping but probably not something I would want to drag. Unfortunately you can't buy extra pipe sections, but on your shorter tent I think it would be high enough. On my dad's tent, I could use at least one more section due to the height.

I have a gp small also. The canvas alone weighs 100+ pounds! The lightweight Arctic tent weighs 40lbs and uses one center pole. Much easier to put on my sled . I'm looking at getting a kni-co stove for it.

Only had one smoke issue, a big wind gust stopped the draft. Opening the doors on both ends and the same wind cleared the tent in seconds. After that I put the wind director cover on the pipe and never another problem
