    Xenon .9

Has anyone tried making a tarp out of xenon .9. If so any tips? And problems? Pictures would be nice if possible. I am making a tarp tent like the zpacks hexamid for the rare occasion I can't use my hammock.

    Xenon .9

This is a 10x12 I made early October

The fabric worked fine in the sewing machine, but was very very slick (which really applies to all lightweight fabrics). I have really no gripes so far about the fabric. It's extremely lightweight and packs down small. Make sure you do the reinforcements large enough so that you don't have to worry about it making holes near the seams

This is an amazing fabric. Was afraid to work with as its so thin, but actually its very easy and comfortable. My first project was a big rectangular tarp, and used 300D reinforcements and adviced in the tutorial. But something went wrong and I have some holes from the stitches. I just put some more silicone and it works till now, the holes stay the same size. But that was my bad, not the fabrics.

My latest project is the asym tarp from one piece of this fabric. This time I didnt make the reinforcements as usual. I put short pieces of grosgrain ribon into the rolled hems of the corners. I decided to skip sewing the reinforcements and try this method, beacause I think the rolled hem should hold well.

From what I was reading the 300D doesn't stretch like the tarp material and it pulls on the stitching. To remedy was to use the same reinforcement material as the tarp to gain equal stretch.
