They launched this morning a little before 8.

Left to right - Quiet, KeeWayKeno, Iguana and ConnieB.

They'll need a lift from Opeongo to pick up their vehicles at Canoe Lake.

Did anyone book a permit yet? GGreaves?

I have been investigating Opeongo's water taxi service as my hernia has been a bit tender and a 4+ hr paddle in windy conditions could be my undoing.
So far I believe there are 2 taxi sevices. Opeongo Taxi- they will take you to one of 6 portage spots for $29. I believe we would want Dixon Lake portage. Not sure where they start from. The second option is Algonquin Outfitters- They are more expensive but they take you right to your camp site for $89.98 and they do start right from access point #1.
If anyone knows about these services please chime in. I'll be doing more research later.

Even in the wind it shouldn't be anywhere near 4 hours. We will be on the south arm (assuming that's where Ted booked) and the max paddling distance would be 5km (3ish miles?)

I haven't used them, but am pretty sure both operate at a $90 minimum (per trip).

That southern most site on the north shore of Jones Bay looks promising. A little more isolated, sunset view, westerly breeze to keep away the bugs. Thoughts?
