1 in. Webbing question Polypropylene or Polyester ???

So I bought some Polypropylene webbing from Amazon, but it stretches way too much. Is the Polyester webbing from Ripstop by the roll better to use for hammock suspension ? Sorry if this has been posted before. I did a search but didn't find anything.

Yes, that is the intent for that webbing.

If you are going to sew it yourself, yes. If you want the loops sewn for you, you might try buying suspension straps from Dutchware gear, Arrowhead Equipment, etc.... None of their stuff stretches.

Hank Scorpio: Hammocks? My goodness, what an idea. Why didn't I think of that? Hammocks!

Polyester webbing is what you want. It is high strength, low stretch and more UV resistant than the other types of webbing. Polypropylene is low strength and is not generally used for tree straps in the 1" size.

I'm using the Dutchware gear Dyneema/polypro straps. They are light (as far as straps go) and work great with the cinch buckles, and don't stretch. I like them.

I've never been impressed with polypro, and I've never tried polyester webbing.

What about Nylon webbing? This is what I currently use in my DIY stuff, simply because I have a lot of it on hand for the sleeping bags I make.

I have nylon webbing too. I thought I'd give the polypro a try. I like it so far. It seems a bit more slick and is more difficult to cut, but it has performed to my expectations.
