    Big guys and Hexon 1.6

Thinking of making one of the Hexon 1.6 hammocks using the Makeyourgear kit. I know the Hexon 1.6 is listed for 350 pound limit, and I am 285, so I think I will be fine. However, any "full figure" guys out there using this and if so, your thoughts?

I'm 245 and my 11' netless is 1.6 Hexon. It's very comfy. Soft to the touch and just a touch of stretch I also have a halfwit in 2.4 and it's nice but I like the 1.6 a bit better for comfort.

I wonder if the difference in comfort you perceive has as much to do with hammock length as with fabric firmness. Netless is 11' and the half wit is 10'6". Earlier this year I tested at various lengths from 10' to almost 12'. I found a notable difference in comfort from 10'6" to 11', and I don't fall into the big guy category by anyone's measure. That said, 2.4 is definitely more firm, but is my wifes choice, and shes not a big guy either. Her choice has everything to do with back issues.

I agree, the over all comfort has as much to do with the extra length but there is definitely a bit more give in the 1.6 and I like it. I would definitely order the 1.6 if I was needing another halfwit.

I'm forunate in that I can sleep well in 1.0, 1.6 and 2.4. I prefer firm due to physical ailments. My overall choice is also 1.6 because of less shoulder squeeze and better lumbar support than 1.0, but also because I don't want to backpack the extra weight of 2.4. Not sure my experiances translate very well to larger folks anyway.

I find my Half-Wit Hexon 1.6 to be very comfortable. I'm 6'2" and about 250#.

Following to see how this works out. I'm 6' 245# and looking at buying a Dutch net-less, 11' wide in 1.6 as an upgrade from my current setup.

It looks like your from Montgomery, I'm from the Wetumpka area.. Nice to see there are other hangers from down this way!

I think you'll be fine. I'm 6'3" 285lbs. and I sleep great in both of my 1.6 Hexon Dutch netless hammocks.

Thanks guys. Gonna make a 1.6 Hexon and also try a 1.7 Robin also from Rip stop by the roll.
