Great idea. What's the ID # for those peak fittings. Tough to tell which is which on their site.

Crayons - they might look different, but they all taste the same

I made mine a while back using a corner with a 30* angle. It's main disadavantage is that it has 4 connections, so one is just wasted, but it was cheaper to buy two of them than it was to buy four of the L brackets and then have to worry about legs spreading. A 30* angle is a little bit shallow; I wouldn't have a kid in it if they get to swinging back and forth, but I've never had any trouble with it myself. You do notice a little bit of end to end sway when you move, but it settles fairly quickly. I chose the 1" conduit for weight and bulk when car camping. You don't need to tighten the set screws unless you want to move the stand. It all holds itself together once the hammock is loaded.

Right, the High Pitch Peak End with Center Pole, is that what you used? Works out to a 28" spread at the feet with my 54" hang height, 4" narrower than the Twerp.
How "loose" is the 1" conduit in the fittings? Do you use the splice fittings for the ridge pole? I wouldn't need to for my indoor full time rig, but would like it to be convertible so it would support a tarp when camping.
Even cheaper with only two fittings, too. $11 for the fittings, about $14 for shipping and $20 for three pieces of 1" EMT. Wow, $45.

I spliced the center pole. The conduit fits perfectly. Just loose enough to slip in easily. I did use the joined ridgepole, because I sometimes transport it. I don't notice a difference between the joined or one-piece ridge pole.

Great design! I've been waiting for such an inexpensive and simple stand! And the kids love doing pull ups on it.

Very nice innovative design! I like it too!

How much flex do you get when you lay in it?

It does wiggle in head-to-toe direction every time you move, but settles quickly. I think it would be stiffer with 1-inch EMT vs. 3/4-inch.

Thanks! Went with 1", it's plenty stiff. Still wiggles head to toe very slightly as you described, but hardly at all.
