    Cedar Ridge Outdoors

    Hello Friends,
It has been a lot of work up to this point. The point where I go live on the forums with my company. I have invested a lot of time (and money) developing a brand I can be proud of and my customers too. So without further ado I'll jump into it.

My company is Cedar Ridge Outdoors and we are located in the rolling hills about 30 miles west of Nashville, TN. At this point I'm licensed as a Class 1 home based business, which in Tennessee means I work out of my house without a dedicated permanent building for the company. After the first of the year we hope to move into a dedicated shop. A little about me, I'm a former Firefighter of 17 years and currently work full time as a Paramedic. I'm very family oriented with enough kids to fill half a football team. I tell you this because I feel it's important for my customers to know who they are working with. So enough about me.

Cedar Ridge Outdoors was started out of frustration really. Being a bigger guy, 6'2" 325 lbs, I was frustrated at not being able to afford the custom gear I salivated over. I decided to venture into the DIY sector and found a great joy in bring into existence my own gear, the way I wanted it. I started making hammocks, tarps, quilts for friends, then making random pieces of gear to peddle on Facebook. Requests for gear became more and more so I decided to start Cedar Ridge Outdoors. Our goal is to make affordable, dependable gear that is designed around the bigger hanger. This means large SL hammocks with higher weight ratings, tarps, and oversized quilts, offered not as a "custom" item but more of a stock item. In example our stock Hammock is the the Backwoods Lounger, it boasts a 12' x 64" Hammock body, made from 2.2 Hex70XL from RSBTR, included dyneema structural ridgeline, 12' tree straps, and a stuff sack. Though I realize a 12' gathered end hammock is not groundbreaking, it's our stock size, which means we are not going to beat you up on price for it. We also work with our customers to do custom gear at an affordable price. We stand behind our products and strive to provide exceptional customer service. So if you would swing by the website and check us out. We look forward to working with you.

As a large hanger (6'7" 385) I give you the heartiest of welcomes!

A SL that could hold me and also pack small and light would indeed be a dream come true. Looking forward to what else you have to offer!

With the release of Ripstop By the Rolls 1.7 Robic, I'm excited to potentially shave some ounces off the hammock without losing the weight rating. I have some fabric inbound as we speak to whip up a hammock and put it through the ringer. I will keep you posted.

Going on now through the end of the month get 10% off your purchase with code croforkids-10. All purchases using this code will also donate another 10% to charity. We will also guarantee your order will be delivered in time for Christmas.

The charity the donations will go to is a local charity we are personally involved with. Dickson County Fire Fighters for Kids. They are dedicated year round to providing needs for underprivileged children and making sure they have a wonderful Christmas as well.
