    sewing climashield directly to hammock

I'm sure this has been discussed many times but I could not find much on the forum, maybe someone could kindly provide me a reminder.
What would be wrong about sewing climashield directly to the hammock to get an UQ? The price for UL ripstop is so expensive and the 6.6 nylon so cheap, at least from my only available-serious source in Europe (extremtextil) that it would make sense to have a hammock for each season by sanwiching the climashield between the hammock and some UL nylon. Is this gonna compress the insulation? wouldn't this save any weight by avoiding the suspensions and the additional nylon layer? Is it that difficult to find the right-definitive positioning for the insulation? I thank you in advance for any answer to these trivial questions..

There's a post on here about it.
I'm in the process of making a UQ with climashield 10 oz. I thought about insulating my DIY but decided not to.
I'm sure someone will pop up and post a link.

The worst thing about having the hammock insulated is you can't vent when it gets warm. Maybe not bad in Minisota but in Florida there is never a trip where this would be a good idea. You could insulate your hammock a little for the mild temps in your area and supplement with a quilt when it gets colder.
The essential part of me can not be discussed here. Ask me in person.

That was my thought as well, unless you do a mesh top (to keep the CS in but save weight) and RS bottom and only sew the sides to the hammock but still have end channels to cinch up.

To me the disadvantage to sewing directly to the hammock itself are the sew lines on the hammock as well as compression of the material. A double layer hammock alleviates the sewing lines but adds weight and may not address compression depending on your fabric. Thus the solution I have used as posted above. I love integration. Compression is still the focal factor. Other than pinning and laying in the hammock prior to sewing to get the right compression it is best guess. I have contemplated using a stretch fabric of some kind that is sewn to the binding on the sides to act like shock cord but can't find the right light weight material.
