Use either a drop in anchor or a double expansion anchor
Id say 1/2" and done correctly should be no problem at all

Shirley, I mean surely, there must be a solution.
Anchors and the like a designed to support things at a 90* angle.

You my friend are pulling at a ~30*.
Add into that the tensioning and relaxing of the anchor nightly, and any bouncing taking place.
That constant repeated impact, movement and wiggling will loosen the anchor.
Concrete is porous, with lumps of gravel, air, sand, and cement. It is impossible to guarantee a firm and solid bite on any concrete anchor when the forces are changing so drastically every day (i.e., your loaded and unloaded hammock)..[I]especially[I] at the angle you are pulling on them. Period.

The only surefire way is to plate each side. Since you are renting, that probably wont work.?

A lifelong career in construction and drilling 1,000's of anchors. I have tried every type on the market. Epoxies, expansion anchors, Tapcons, etc. are all for loads that do not move. Every box I've ever seen has a caution on it against "supporting people".
You can anchor a machine to the floor, or a cabinet to a wall, sure..but that is not what we are discussing. We are talking about hanging a hammock.

It is your safety, I say do not hang from concrete, solid or otherwise. As you saw, your anchor wiggled loose in a night or two.
Not only will you fall, but that anchor may fly into your head.

Find a reliable and safe solution.

Take the old mattress you are no longer using and place it under the hammock.

Cannot disagree with the folks mentioning the challenges of concrete and hang angle etc. However, I have slept in my hammock almost every night for the past year and had various hammocks hanging from it for the three years prior and my anchor setup has not budged. In fact, just now I inspected it, yanked on it, pulled by the straps in every direction and there is not even the slightest bit of wiggle. Note: Having a board with some decent vertical length probably helps too. Again let me know if you have questions.

There are no guarantees of course but my in experience the board and Ramset system is working and I have no concern that it will fail. I'd use it again without hesitation.

Small investment to give it a try....that mattress below idea will give you some insurance and confidence. I think you'll find that it works and then you'll have a very cool tool lying around to use on other projects (unfortunately they don't shoot nails quite like they do in the movies though).

    YMMV

    Drilling into concrete

Removed the extra cordage I had stored on my anchor to get a few clearer pictures. Please excuse my messy man cave. I'm the creative type, not the organized type....much to my wife's dismay.

Thank you again for all the feedback.

The longer screw worked last night, but I am not trusting it in totality.
The hardware store did not have those double anchors, which I was going to with as first choice from the link
that durkfiss provided. Thank you brutalguyracing for the link.

If the longer casing and bolt doesn't work, I will have to go with campdavid's set up.
I am determined with this concrete!
I also located a fastener place within a mile of where I live, so I will give them a go.

No falls, but I still have a stack of pillows underneath!!

Blue concrete screws and a drill bit to match. All sold in the same section at HD. Make sure to check the load rating.
I would rather be in the woods... my dog would rather be in the pool. My wife thinks we are both nuts.
