Opie's got a great video of Whoopie Sling building highlighting the Brummel in his method of building the first eye. Can someone post the link here? Eecommended bury length is min 1-/4 fid length.
I dont currently, but I can do one real quick.

I finally found the time today to switch out the stock HH suspension cord. Now I have amsteelblue whoopieslings in place of the stock cord. Thanks Ken for the very clear demo video. It was a big help.

    Question-
When making the ws, I started out with an approx bury of 10-10.5 inch (on the adjustable end), but the end result is approx only 8.5-9 inch. I have no previous experience with ws and wonder if this is a long enough bury. I weigh approx 220lbs.
...And then one day you find, ten years have got behind you.

My adjustable buries start at 9" and end just over 7". Im 265 and somewhere out in the woods there is a 400 pound member hanging off a set of my slings, with the aformentioned bury length.

Congratulations!!! Now try and splice some mason line or the 1.75mm Zing It!!

I used regular sewing thread. Will that do? If not, what type of needle do you use to sew mason line?

Oh.... I was talking about making a sling out of mason line or Zing It...

Yes... Regular thread will do. Best to use Poly thread.

Finally finished my HH conversion. On the second whoopie, I used a Locked Brummel for end loop (much easier than the thread-lock full bury method) and I used a triple sheet bend for the connection to my single hole hammock end.

I don't think the triple sheet bend works as well in this scenario. I don't think I was able to get the wraps as tight as I could with the half-clove hitch I did at the other end. No mater, it held my fat butt without issue. Though I had to move one of my test hang eye-loops as the min distance is a bit longer with the whoopie slings than the stock HH setup.

The slings I bought from Opie showed up today (ordered them Friday night - awesome service!!!) and in less than 30 minutes I had the stock HH suspension removed and my new black whoopie sling suspension installed. Ken's video was crystal clear in how to tie it off and it worked great. The little nylon Hennessy knot covers are back on (had to go buy some black cable ties to keep it looking stock...) and then I did a quick test hang - no problems.

Big thanks to Ken for that extremely clear video!!!!

JDM80, how are you hanging your tarp? I've got some WS on the way along with a hennessy and I'm trying to find out what the consensus is on transferring the prusiks to the WS's. I read somewhere that if you stake down your tarp good and then pull your prusiks tight, then you'll get a good tight pitch even after getting in the hammock.
