Question JRB Top quilt on bottom?

    Hey team!

I'm looking at quilts! I was pretty set on a greylock 3 or 4, but then I noticed in the description of the Hudson River, you can use it as an underquilt! Does anybody have experience with this? Does it work well? Pictures would be great, I use a Hennessy deep jungle and explorer asym-classic with whoopie sling suspension.

    Thanks,
    Groobsnack

I have a Hudson River and it works very well for an UQ.

It's too narrow for my tastes as a TQ (I used to have the No Sniveller of the same dimensions), but if you don't toss 'n turn a lot and stay mostly on your back it should work fine.

As for pics, it's the same dimensions as the JRB Nest so you can see pics on their site.

NOTE: I don't use the "versatility" feature - that is, I never use it as a TQ, as I have dedicated TQ's so my UQ stays down below. Never saw the need.

I run 2 old rags for top and bottom. And haven't had a problem.

I was wondering the same thing. I have a JRB Shenandoah that I use as a TQ in warmer weather. I plan on layering it with my Greylock 3 as an UQ this winter.

Ditto..Greylock 3 and 4 owner here. Easy to set up and dial in, just watch the JRB video and make sure to add prussicks to keep it in position.

I have about all of the JRB quilts now, and my wife used a Hudson river or Old rag mnt as an underquilt on most of our trips. She found the full coverage better than the Greylocks, although she isn't a fiddler.

While I feel they don't fit as well as a specific designed underquilt, it definitely does the job. She just picked up a HG Incubator, and the good part is, I now have those JRB quilts to select from as my top quilts!
