Hey guys this is my first time posting. So I am heading up to Huron Forest November 4-6 to hit the Hoist Lakes Trail. At this moment since I am a new comer to Michigan, it will just be me.
Anyone out there interested?

Just got back from a solo there actually. Had a great time! I'd head back up but I'm stuck here. Have fun!
p.s. Don't forget cash for the $5/day. There was a USFS car apparently busting a few people not paying. I'm guessing day hikers thinking they can get away with it for a couple hours.
Check out the Gluttony Hang going on this same weekend if you don't want to be solo.
I grew up in that neck of the woods!
If you are driving up Hwy 65, then check out Shernie's Candies (just north of Whittemore). They are famous for their chocolate covered potato chips. And Alward's Market in Hale is famous for their homemade bacon. When you stop in, tell them Karla "with a k" says hello.
If you have extra time, Iargo Springs and Lumberman's Monument are both beautiful places for to visit.

You would definitely be welcome. We have a nice group coming up with some newbies to hammock camping. Should be a good time with a lot of gear to check out.
Here is the link to the hang https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...I-Nov-3-6-2016
Hope you have a great trip no matter where you go.

You know what, I met MichiganDave at Pinckney last weekend and he told me about the Gluttony Hang. Count me in. Hoist Lakes can wait!
Yep, Hoist Lakes isn't going anywhere and where else can you go for a 4 day long bacon buffett and hanging out with new found friends in the woods of northern Michigan? Glad to have you join us and it was great meeting you. Welcome to the madness.
