I'm in the market to shave some weight off my pack and thought I might "graduate" to a CF tarp. Zpacks is actually located near me and I've heard good things about their products. I was checking the "bargain bin" section but there's not a tarp to be had.
However, they had a gaggle of used sleeping bags and packs. The question is...do a lot of people send their gear back (refund) after purchase? This seems like a lot of used/returned items.
I received my Arc Haul backpack about a month ago and am to take it on it's virgin journey tomorrow. But looking at the craftsmanship, I'm all kinds of thrilled. I doubt very many return their products and if they so, I'd suspect it's because they ordered the wrong thing to begin with.
They only fill the bargain bin a few times a year, especially the backpacks, and they sell out fast. They often have one or two quilts in there. I've never seen tarps or shelters.
When I upgraded from a ULA pack to a Zpack Arc Haul, the fit wasn't right and I sent it back for exchange. You pay a premium for their gear, but you're not just getting great gear. You're also getting their great service.
I have one of their bargain bin arc haul packs and it was almost new in condition, just a little dirty.
