Advice/Books on Sewing Canvas for Tents???

I have access to a heavy duty (industrial) sewing machine and want to learn about sewing canvas for making camping items (e.g. tent).

Question - Any pointers/links/books you could recommend?

Interested in things such as:
* type/size of needles
* type/size of thread
* techniques for sewing

for sewing items such as:
* canvas-to-canvas
* fly screen to canvas
* zips to canvas
* PVC to canvas
* water resistant

You do know you joined a hammock camping forum, with a DIY forum for making hammocks and hammock accessories right?
We don't really do canvas tents very much. Maybe someone here has some experience with this but I would think a bushcraft would have more.

oh ok

I used word tent, but to be more precise it's more pop out awnings, pop out sleeping beds on a caravan and the like I'll be doing...

None of which are hammocks.

OP....you seem to be mixed up (See what I did there), this is a hammock forum. Hammock as in not tent, not camper, not pop up....hammock. Say it with me, "hammock."
