I don't remember seeing one near the trail head, but I've seen people camp in that area so there should be fire ring stones. Might have to build a ring for ourselves though. I'm hunting this weekend, but after that I can take a hike out that way and see whats around.

BTW Fool, can you double check the sign up sheet? It looks like its "view only" to me.

and thanks for the sled link, that sled came up in a couple pulk videos I've seen. I thought it looked flimsy, how durable is yours?

Spreadsheet should be fixed. I signed out of google and was able to edit it still.

That sled is better than your average kids sled but like anything I'm sure there are more durable, but likely more expensive, options.

Started hiking that loop about 30 years ago when my kids were little. Been a few years since I've been over and it would be great to see everyone. Will watch the thread and will be sure to join in if the weekend is free. I'm about 45 min away and hate to miss this.

Single digits next week.. might be a good time to get out and test some cold weather setups.

Anyone try the sign up sheet yet? Let me know if there are any issues.

I just signed up and you are the only other name I see. I logged out then back in and my info stayed.
I like refried beans. That's why I wanna try fried beans, because maybe they're just as good and we're just wasting time. You don't have to fry them again after all.

yep yep, I'm afraid this Lake Effect storm is going to keep me near the lake and not hunting, but can still test out back...

updated sign in sheet, I marked that I'm not attending meals, I'll be there but my diet is so picky that it's easier for me to just worry about me

anyone do a cold weather gear shake-down? I slept out last night, 24° and a light wind and snow. Got to test my Kelty winter setup and new CRL, also got to know my sleeping bag again. Good thing too because it took me a little longer than I expected to get comfortable, which would have probably stressed me out in the woods and ruined my sleep.

Also took an hour nap this afternoon with my DIY UQ, never tried it in those low temperatures (25°), once I corrected a gap I was nice and toasted to my surprise.
