Greetings from Sunny Southern California!

Hey guys, I'm Josh. I've came across these forums a few times in my never-ending search for new information about hammocks, and decided that it was time I become a member.

I've been hammocking for about 2 and a half years, mainly in the Ventura County area. More specifically, Matilija and the Piedra Blanca Trail with its surrounding network of other trails.

I'm happy to be a part of the community and look forward to having some great discussions with everyone here.

I haven't ventured that far south quite yet. I normally keep to the places around highway 33. However I hear that the Sunset Cliffs area has some great views and most likely places to hang a hammock in the palm trees.

I couldn't tell you the last time it rained. Last time I camped in the rain was in January of this year though. Last I've built a fire was March or April because it's been so dry.

Hey Josh. Fellow Ventura County resident here, do you ever hike on PCH? Those are some of my favorite trails with amazing views but no trees in sight. I'm gonna google the trails you mentioned, see what they are about.

Do you ever go to Arroyo Verde park? I like to hike the trails there after work and have always wanted to take the hammock and setup in the back away from the people. One of these days...
