Springer Mountain not feeling like Spring

    Daddy Daughter fall trip
Fun Friday night camp with my daughter. Well, it was a cold Friday night and very cold Saturday morning.
She got a new backpack for her birthday, so we set out to use it. No better place to go than the start of the AT. She is really loving this hammock camping thing and enjoys the adventures. I must admit that the cold wind last night slowed her down a bit, but it was an overall fun adventure!
We did stay warm sleeping with good underquilts and sleeping bags, making it hard to crawl out of the hammocks this morning.
By the way, for the Springer rookies (like me), the shelter for Springer is actually not to far from the summit, not a mile past and at the bottom of the mountain.

Good pn you, getting your daughter out in the wilds and spending time with her! I bet the view from Springer is getting pretty nice right about now. What kind of pack did you get her?

    Thanks for sharing!

I bet they did see snow! This cold front brought the first real taste of fall in the south.

Thanks. She got an Osprey. Mira AG 34
Maybe a bit much for a young one, but I hope I've got her hooked.
