    Peak shelf on the Sparrow.

The pics I've seen of a Sparrow with the optional Peak Shelf have all been located at the head end. Does anyone have a shelf at the foot end? Is it simply a matter of moving it or is it sewn in? I like the idea of the peak shelf as a storage option for items too big to fit into a ridgeline organizer (like a jacket) but I don't want to block the overcover vent and trap moisture. I'd like the extra headroom too.

    Thanks.

The shelf cannot hang below the face vent or that would place the shelf on your head.
So no it will not block the vent.

I'm not 100% sure but I thought you could attach the overcover in either direction based on where you want the head in to be on the Sparrow. It doesn't have a dedicated head/foot end

Can also confirm you can reverse the overcover.

The Sparrow comes with a peak bag for both the overcover and bugnet (if you get both), one on each end. One will be empty if either one is currently in use, so you could use it for storage.

Shouldn't have looked at the pictures. Don't need another hammock. But the sparrow looks so nice!

That's true, however, the zipper top/open top storage pocket is sewn into the "true" head end. Flipping the over cover around would put the pocket out of reach at the "new" foot end. I'll see if the Smurfs can install the shelf at the foot end instead.

Thanks for the pics. What type of fabric did you choose?

We can certainly install the Peak Shelf on either end of the hammock or even both ends if you choose. Just leave us a note on your order and we can take care of it.
