I don't know what WBG's cinch buckle is rated for but I can't imaging anyone being too heavy for onropes version.

I would love to show you all the stuff in my bag of tricks. But I'm not here to sell stuff. I seem to be here to buy stuff as it turns out. 2Q and I provide Dutch clips as a service to HF members and to help contibute and fund the forum. Our way of giving back. HC4U hasn't talked about restocking the DC, but I think we will work on that after the New Year. I honestly nver thought we would sell near as many as we did. I originally got quoted for 50 and 100 pieces and I think we have sold more then 700. I never knew there were so many out there with webbing based suspension. I keep wondering when will the well run dry, but they seem to sell at about a rate of one per day when they are up on the site.

There has been some discussion here about damage to webbing where it rubs on itself...it's a matter of friction/heat. How much degradation to the strength of the webbing results from this is unclear, but it can't be a good thing.

You also have to remove the strap from your hammock to do that way. Major PITA.

OK, that makes sense. But if you are using toggles to attach your straps to your suspension, that's a non-issue, right?

Oh thank goodness! I'm going to need a couple sets... I have hammocks to make!

I mostly use webbing suspension, but even with a marlinspike setup, the DC's can come in handy!

I love me some Dutch clips ...

They represent all that is right and good in the world ...

Perhaps they should be called Christmas Clips?

As said above, you can do that but the clips are much quicker. And after the 7th night of rain in a row, on a hike, threading the webbing at each end AND then through whatever attaches it to your hammock gets very old. I still use biners mostly cause I haven't gotten he Dutch Clips yet. Set up time for my hammock as you describe is about 4.5 minutes, with the biners or Dutch Clips, literally 30 seconds if I take my time. If I hurry it still takes 4 - 5 minutes
On a dry day, when I'm not tired, the difference of 4 minutes isn't a big deal, when I'm cold, tired & wet, that 4 minutes is A BIG DEAL! YMMV.
As an added benefit, the Dutch Clips are about 1/2 the size of my current biners (in addition to being lighter) so will take up less room in my pack. Enough space for 1/2 a candy bar at least.

I've only got two sets of Dutch Clips and I'm kicking myself for not ordering more during the last restock. They are very nice to use and I've become a bit of a fan. You know it's a good thing when the demand far outpaces the supply. Course, that just makes me want them even more!

I sure wish there were different colored Dutch clips. Mine are just plain silver...

I got a set a few weeks ago just to see what all the hullabaloo was about.

I haven't yet tried them out in the field, but my indoor "tests" are impressive.
I wish I had a second set now.

Dutch seemed surprised that "so many people are using web-based suspensions", but I'm not sure that accounts for all sales. Everybody is probably (or probably should be) using "tree saver/tree hugger" straps. That is where the Dutch clips are genius! I only wish that they came in a size for 1 1/2 inch wide webbing.

    Make more, I'm ready.

(and many thanks to Dutch! Before this thread I thought they were called that because they look like feet with wooden shoes on them.)
