Massdrop: Ultimate Hammocks Straps w/ Nano Weave for $24

Looks these daisy chain style webbing suspensions are popular on Massdrop:

Ultimate Hammocks Straps w/ Nano Weave

They seem relatively light (about 5oz for the pair). Might be an option for some people.

It looked like a good option to me, and I bought some. I figure I will use a Dutch Biner to connect the strap to the amsteel loop. This is my start to my next lightweight and comfortable hammock set up.

Does the adjustable-ness of the strap, with multiple attachment points, make having whoopie slings redundant and you can use just the amsteel loop, biners and tree strap? Or do you still use whoopies too, to fine tune?

I would not use whoopies also. Their were a couple of times this year when the trees were too close for whoopies in the best spot I could find for hanging, and straps worked. I am hoping that the loops will provide enough adjustment. There are probably ways to take up a few inches if needed.

No whoopies. Also a little FYI. You can use the last loop to run the strap through so all the loops are closer to the tree. It will leave the single loop, normally at the tree, dangling near the hammock. This allows a very tight hang in close set trees. I have been doing this with the straps that came with my 11' from 2toutdoors.

I think that these will also allow you to hang a gear hammock under the hammock using the same strap and just needing to add a second pair of biners.

I got these from the Kickstarter run. They are excellent and wait for it...... way better than the Dutch spiders and straps that came "undone" every single time I used them.

I ordered a couple sets too.. it makes a difference when you can pick them up and look at them. I've never been a "carabiner guy, but I'm thinking soft shackles should work fine too...

I bought a few on the kickstarter pre-sale. I like the simplicity of the "daisy chain" for my kids. I may order some more to give away as gifts with a hammock for Christmas to some non- hammockers. It's straight forward for someone who hasn't spent time learning here on the forums. Also less bulky than the ENO or similar straps!
