Shug, yeah this trip report is alright with me. I didn't realize scarlet oaks could get so vivid red in the fall. Wow. Still a lot of color up there. Those views from the hilltop looking toward Lake Superior must be stunning. Thanks for sharing.
I am liking these quicky 24 hour jaunts. 7 hour drive round trip. Totally worth it.

Fast and quick and a good 11 hour hammock sleep. Oh yes.
They were ultra vivid in that spot. Enjoyed them coming and going. Lots of yellow made the few lasting reds really pop.

Another nice video. Always good to hit the trail. Going to do a overnight or maybe two in the Long Trail State Forest here in Vermont. Saves your sanity to get out.
