Howdy from Marietta, GA

Hello Everyone,

I just wanted to take a moment to say hello. I'm new to the forum and pretty new to camping. I've only gone hammock camping 3 times now. My goals is to try to get a few overnight trips this fall/winter in NW Georgia. With that, I am looking to upgrade what little equipment I have. I'm currently using a ENO double nest, cheap Walmart tarp, sleeping pad and I did convert a broken 40 degree sleeping bag to an under quilt which seems to work for now. I will do my best to post my newbie questions in the appropriate sections.

Hello neighbor, and welcome from a fellow Mariettan. Good luck getting out for some trips, the weather is so nice right now I'm itching to do the same but it's not easy with work schedules and all.

Use what you have and educate yourself on wise upgrades. Don't rush, but use the forums here to research, and use your field experience to get a feel for what you really need and want.

Greetings.
Your setup isn't all that different from mine. I have 3 nights with my hammock so far. I did decide to get a proper underquilt, as I didn't have a sleeping bag option at home that worked well for me. Play around with your setup and find out what you like best.

Welcome to the forums ... Like johnspenn mentioned, use what you have and make changes as you see fit. It is easy to get overwhelmed with the rush of info. The members here are really good about answering any questions that you have.
