Question Torn between a few Tarps WITH Doors ...

    I am torn between the:

11' Standard Cuben Fiber w/ Doors
    and
    Winter Palace

Main difference between these two appears to be 8'6" wide vs. 10'4" wide. Are there other differences? Both say they are cat-cut... which is a prerequisite for me coming from a tarp that is not Cat-cut, to aid in reducing the number of tie-outs needed to keep a tarp taut.

I am 6'3", so not sure if that alone would push me to the Winter Palace, just to have a bit more room to move and have both the hammock and tarp a little higher? With my Noah 12, I get moisture on the inside of the tarp during heavy rain or cold weather condensation. I find it difficult to move in/out of the tarp and hammock w/o getting my back wet from the tarp. Hammock is 11' Dutch Netless

I wish there were a group hang or some place to see these tarps 1st hand.

Haven't ruled out the SuperFly from Warbonnet at 10' wide
or the Winter Dream from UGQ @ 9'8" wide
or SimplyLight's Winter Haven (width ?)
Some of ^^^ these can be used w/ internal pole-mods which sound appealing to create more space and/or have a built-in porch mode.

Thoughts? Yeah I know... narrowed down to 5.. that's better than 10 I guess Some are cuben fiber and some are sil-nylon or sil-poly .. leaning cuben fiber but ????

I'll throw in one more option. In fact, this is what I just did, and I too was looking to upgrade to a tarp with doors.

I just bought the Hammock Gear Cuben Fiber Hex Tarp (in stock at dutchwaregear.com).
    http://www.dutchwaregear.com/cuben-f...mock-gear.html

It does not have doors... BUT... 2QZQ makes Cuben Fiber Grizz Beaks specifically for this Hammock Gear Cuben Fiber Tarp. I haven't bought these yet, but I am going to buy a pair of them very soon. http://www.2qzqhammockhanger.com/tarpaccessories.html

Basically, this allows you to not pack the doors if the weather doesn't require them.

As a fallow tall person I set my superfly high on the tree, and use an under quilt protector for the rain if there is any. Also been looking that the UGQ with an double internal pole mod.

I'm a big fan of Jared's tarps and have two Winter Haven tarps with the external pole mods. I love his work and he's Jimmy John fast.

If you're going to spend the money on a Cuben tarp, I'd say don't bother with the smaller sizes. Go for the Winter Palace. It's still crazy light, but it will provide way more protection.
