I use a BB XLC (11' hammock) with my Superfly - works just great.
I like the idea of a 12' tarp for the extra room, but that is a low priority precisely because my Superfly is doing the job so well currently.
I've heard that CF3 is a better material and I'm sure that is true, but then there is the cost . . .

I think that you'll find that the Superfly will give you what you need.

I have two Superfly's and an Edge shipping to me right now.. 1 superfly each for my wife and son and the Edge for my use to play with when I want something not as big as my HG Winter Palace.

What sealant did you go with, Shug?

P.S. - My son is NOT happy that I didn't get him one of your shirts when he saw mine come in the mail.. He loves your vids lol

Yes you need doors ( if you are camping in cool/cold/wet weather)

Well well well... The one and only Shug! Thanks for chiming in, sir. 'Tis a pleasure...
I love your videos; they have helped quite a bit with the learning curve on this hammock business. Is there perhaps a Shug Superfly video in the works? I would love to hear/see your take on it.

I like this thread. Just about every day I check it out, go to hammockgear.com, add a 11' or 12' cuben hex tarp to my cart, debate 11 vs 12, think a bit more, then close the browser. I usually go back again later in the day and do the same.

Regarding the Superfly, it's hard to beat!

Sometimes you need doors...sometimes you dont. Cant use em if ya dont have em, but you can, not use them by tying them back. Ill never have one without doors again.

Hehe... That's pretty much what I was doing before I started this thread. It's the main reason I posted the question. If this thread has made your life a living hell lately, I apologize. ;-)

LOL between all the options and my indecisiveness, it's always a living hell!

I did the same thing for 2 weeks then I ordered a cf hex from dutch and 1 grizz beak from 2qzq. Both items were added and edited five thousand times. I just couldn't pull the trigger till I did finally.

I never had a tarp with doors. I figured, why? If I wanted doors I'd buy a tent. I finally gave in after a hike with cold blowing wind and ordered a Grizz Beak. Wow! Big difference. So, my next tarp will probably have doors on the ends. It's a big help in windy weather, or wet weather when accompanied by windy weather.
