Lucky duck. Yeah, I was sewing through the quilt, two layers of doubled over nylon, any thread used to hold the nylon, and then folded and doubled over grosgrain. I am sure I put the motor to the limit of its abilities.

Oh, you may find it helpful to use the zipper foot as it allows clearance for the cord. However, this may place the stitching a bit farther away from the edge then you like. Use the "far" side of the foot.

That is the same way I did it as well. I will have to remember the zipper foot trick, as it would have made sewing around the shock cord knot tied to the grosgrain loop much easier.

How did you go about sewing together the top and bottom sections?

I pinned them together and then ran the stitch as close to the edge of both layers as I could. If you look closely in the full length picture, you can see it at the bottom last two rows.

    Very nice sewing skills!!!!

I just got a brand new "Thread injector" that I'm about to unbox. I dont even know the brand yet. My mom brought it by for the wife and I last weekend as an anniversary gift. Maybe i will finally learn not to suck at sewing....

Thanks! Grab some old t-shirts or cheap fabric and run some lines, practice going in reverse, etc... Before you start on that quilt.
