Finished my HEX12 tarp using the precut kit from RSTBR and decided to try and make an internal spreader pole for it.
Using some of the left over Hyper D 300 from the kit I added some reinforcement to the edges where the pockets for the pole would be. I then made two pockets that were seized for the fiberglass pole I had. The pockets were sized to come below the edge of the tarp.
Using trial and error I trimmed the pole to length and added a ridge line down the inside of the tarp using mason line to hold the pole in place. I created a 1'' bury in the middle of the ridge line using an 8in piece of line. To the ends of the line I added a diy cord lock that is used to cinch up around the pole.
I'm pretty happy with the results.
A few before and after.
