    Agreed with the above. In my own experience, the shock cord can be a pain in the butt. Removing it makes packing into a stuff sack a lot easier without a penalty in function. I did find it helpful to replace the cord with some webbing, mostly as a way to be able to easily find the bottom opening of the net when setting up. Also helps minimize abrasion when I need to hang my ridgeline a bit lower than usual.

    I agree with all of those stating cinching the bottom has no real purpose. It's just a "feel good" thing that slows down getting in and out.

    I agree with not needing the shock-cord at the bottom. When I made mine, that was what was called for then I found there wasn't a need for it. And like some of the others, treating it with permetherin is a plus. Something you may want to consider if yours doesn't have the option is a way to slide it out of the way. I hate climbing up under it when I am setting up ie: putting quilts in place or if you want to lounge during the day when the biters are taking a break. What I did was cut the end from the peak down to about 1/2 way and sewed velcro to the opening. Works great.
