FINALLY a cool day. First one since last April

We finally had a "cool hiking day". This is our fist day since last April (over 5 months) that we didn't even hit 80. Todays high 70.5 Woo Hoo. So with that I took off work have a day and hit the trails. I got in 7 miles and that was all I wanted. I'm so ready to get back on the trails and it's that time of year.

Beautiful day in Huntsville on Monte Sano.

Today's high here in Jersey was 62* F. I had to dump the shorts and put on long pants! The wind is blowing something fierce (there's a wind advisory) and we have a coastal flood watch as well.

For the next 10 days we're only expected to hit 70* F on two of those days. So yeah, I think fall might be here!

It was hot and humid here in SC. A cold front is coming through tonight. Probably the one that already passed thru AL. I was off today and went for a 14 mile hike 'cause I'm ready to get back in the woods! I sweated a bunch! Looking forward to some cooler, dryer air. Woo hoo!

Wow. 14 miles. 7 was all I wanted and it was relitively flat. I've got a lot of work to do to get back into shape.

No shame in that. That's the first bit of hiking since spring for me. Most of it was flat too and it liked to kill me! I've got an upcoming trip in October and I've got to get in shape.

Cool. Keep up those kind of miles and you should be ready in no time.

I was out last weekend and just about giddy it was cold enough for a coat. Course I was at 6000' but I'll take it.

Looks like it was a nice hike.

Thanks. No just a day hike around Monte Sano. The whole time I was hiking I was looking for that perfect spot.

Thanks. It's going to be short lived but I'll take what ever we can get. Back into the upper 80's by Tuesday and Wednesday. But fall is getting near and I CAN'T WAIT.

It was sooo nice. Just a taste of what is coming our way. Now if we could just get a bit of rain to get the streams flowing again. It's been the second driest summer in Huntsville in 27 years.
