    COLD FEET!

No really, my feet get cold easily. I have vascular issues and anything below 60° makes it hard to keep my feet warm while I sleep. Even in the 60's-70's I need wool socks, though the rest of me sweats.
My "hammock sleep socks" are about as thick/warm as I can get.

We made 6oz Climashield Underquilts this past winter and they are awesome! Even though we followed the guidelines and triple checked dimensions, our full lengths settled in as a 3/4 lengths. We are hoping that our soon to be installed Secondary Underquilt Suspensions will stretch them back out?
This winter we will be making Top Quilts, to replace our 30° (realistically 40°~50°) mummy bags. We plan on using 6Oz Climashield again.

So should I maybe double up insulation in the Foot Box? I would prefer not to as this is a lot of extra bulk in the pack.

What about "Hammock Slippers"? Does such a thing exist? Maybe with left over quilt materiels? Is there a tutorial anyone knows of? Can I just buy a pair?
We are not great at the whole DIY thing but, willing to give it a shot.
Or, is this a dead end? As in, it has been tried and they do not work.
Sure would be lighter than a double thick Foot Box.

Any other suggestions? Besides hot water bottle.

You could try these REI Down Slippers or perhaps THESE from Arrowhead. I have the REI booties but rarely need them. Baggy wool socks usually does the trick for me.

Counter-intuitive as it may be, I don't wear any socks at all. The socks always trap moisture near my skin and I always freeze with socks. However, I've been down to -3* F with no socks and my feet didn't get cold.

You could always try foot warmers. They last 6-8 hours but you'd need to wear 2 pairs of socks since they aren't supposed to be directly exposed to the air.

After a quick search, found these below. A little pricey, but looks like they would be a good at keeping your feet warm.

I'm sure others will chime in with other suggestions.

    Good luck!

Warmest thing for me is no socks using a down pillow to rest my heels on.

My dad would always tell me "if you want to keep your feet warm, put a hat on your head". It make a big different.
Also the foot warmers with thin (non-cotton) socks is a great modern twist.

Down booties are great! For a little bulk and anywhere from 2-10oz for a pair, it's great insurance. I can't hang in the winter without them. Cold feet will keep you up all night...or any sleep you do get will probably suck.

I've had to resort to a hot water bottle by my feet on occasion. I don't like to rely on it, but WOW is that a great feeling

dkurfiss, I will follow up on those leads.
Funny it did not occur to me to try baggy socks. After all understand how loft works. I have three different weight wool socks but, all fit snug to be worn with boots. Now to look into possibilities of baggy wool socks for a size 12 men's foot.
